A simple, inexpensive and durable device for quick rechecking and controlling the viscosity of liquids in both laboratory and production work. It is not intended to provide viscosity measurements, but rather to maintain a liquid at previously determined viscosity, accurately and conveniently. Used by manufacturers of paint, varnish, lacquer, Japan, syrups and oils. Viscosity checks can be made quickly, usually in about 20 to 40 seconds without a special skill. The viscosimeter consists of a bullet shaped corrosion resistant stainless steel cup with a precision drilled orifice. It is equipped with a 12 inch looped handle to allow immersion of the cup into a liquid. At the top of the handle, a small ring aligns the cup in a vertical position when withdrawing it from the liquid. A holder for the thermometer is usually left in position while checking viscosity, permitting a measurement of both the temperature and the time of flow in one simple operation. Volume of cup:
