The Portapet combines the fine control and portability of the Mopet with the simplicity and lightness (7oz.) of a low density polyethylene bellows. Its self-contained non-electric power source and compact design makes Portapet ideal for use in safety cabinets or fume hoods, for pulling samples in the field or for pipetting anywhere in or out of the laboratory. Just compress Portapet’s bellows to generate more than 100mL of total pipetting capacity. The unit is designed for use with any standard glass or plastic pipet from 0.5mL to 20mL (mouth OD 3 to 9.9mm), and has separate pushbuttons for sensitive control of pick-up, dispense, and blow-out. It can be used for TD or TC procedures. A self-contained, replaceable hydrophobic filter keeps fluids from entering the unit and protects against biohazards. Portapets pipet holder can be autoclaved. By simply removing the bellows, the Portapet may be attached to a house vacuum line for unlimited pipetting power.
