CHEMetrics kits employ a unitized reagent dosing and sampling system. Untrained personnel can perform routine tests with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Each kit includes sealed glass ampoules with a measured quantity of reagent, permanently protected from contamination, evaporation or reaction with the atmosphere. Shelf life is almost unlimited. To perform a test, the ampoule is immersed in the sample and the prescored tip is snapped off. Vacuum inside the ampoule pulls in the correct volume of sample automatically. The analyst then quantifies the result using a color comparator supplied with the kit. Each kit is supplied with the necessary comparators, ampoules and accessories to perform 30 tests. Two similar systems are available. CHEMetsŪ (C) are 7 mm diameter ampoules, used in the comparator as described above. Vacu-vialsŪ (V) are 13 mm diameter ampoules, and a colorimeter or spectrophotometer is used to quantify results.
