The rapid and safe way to dissolve inorganic samples in hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and other strong mineral acids, or to digest organic samples in strong alkalis or oxidizing acids at temperatures well above normal boiling points. By combining the unique chemical resistance of TeflonŽ with the advantages of a sealed stainless steel pressure vessel, these convenient bombs offer a rapid procedure for sample dissolution or digestion. The 28300-01 bomb can be used safely below 150 °C and 1200(psi)g. This bomb does not have a safety rupture disc, but it is designed so that the bottom plate will shear and release the charge if bomb pressure should exceed 7000psig. Therefore, this bomb is not recommended for experimental procedures in which explosive pressures may be generated.
