These centrifuges, the Z323 and its refrigerated counterpart the Z323K, are available with a wide range of accessories to meet the needs of a variety of laboratories from clinical to research. Both centrifuges will accept tubes from 0.25 to 85mL in fixed angle rotors and tubes up to 100mm as well as microplates in swingout rotors. The user-friendly microprocessor in the Z323 and Z323K allows for setting of a variety of operating parameters including speed, RCF, braking intensity, temperature control (Z323K only) radius correction, and timed and momentary operation. The microprocessor also controls a variety of automatic functions including rotor recognition, imbalance cutout and troubleshooting diagnostics. A program memory allows for the storage of centrifuge runs.
Speed/RCF- At the touch of a button, the display can be switched from rpm to RCF. Correct RCF is displayed regardless of the rotor being used. Speed can be adjusted in 500 and 10 RPM increments by using the coarse and fine control knobs.
Braking Intensity - Many times, researchers want to get their samples out of the centrifuge as quickly as possible after a run is completed. For these applications, full braking should be applied. However, when working with fragile pellets, it is important to bring the rotor to a stop more slowly to avoid disruption. At these times, the braking intensity can be set to a lower number. The braking intensity is adjustable in a range of 0-9 and is displayed digitally.
Temperature Control (Z323K only) - Temperature can be adjusted from -10° to 40°C in 1 degree increments. Both actual and preset temperature can be displayed. An automatic pre-cool function will cool down rotors before a run at the touch of a button.
The Z323K has a powerful refrigeration system that can cool every available rotor to 0°C, even at maximum speed. The "true" refrigeration system uses a CFC free refrigerant that meets all federal standards for environmental safety. 110V 50/60Hz.
